Glass Ionomer Filling
Commonly referred as GIC filling, its biocompatibility and fluoride releasing properties make it medically superior to all existing fillings. Also, these properties help restrict risks of any post-operative sensitivity.
The GIC Filling is Tooth Colored and Pocket Friendly option for someone who is looking for Aesthetics, Health and Cost.
Procedure
The treatment starts with cavity preparation (removal of decay or caries) followed by Tooth Isolation to prevent Restoration failures because of contamination by oral fluids. The homogenously mixed GIC is then condensed into the tooth cavity to achieve the desired shape. Following this, the bite is adjusted (to avoid any discomfort while chewing) and the final filling is shaped and polished using super fine tools with a feather stroke to achieve smooth surface and prevent micro porosities. The final restoration is coated with a gelly agent to insulate it from saliva and oral fluids.
